Surprise

This is my back porch where the snow seemed to want to gather there is a table between the chairs that is totally covered the birds took full advantage of the hanging feeder and you can see their foot prints in the snow.....and theirs were the only ones.....lol
Pop going out to check the generator wondering if it would come on covered with snow.

a snow drift that looked kinda like a sharks tail and from my kitchen window it looked very much like it had a face in it so it looked like God's snowman.

Surprise I decided to post on my blog, I usually just communicate thru facebook these days its so much easier and I mostly just see whats going on with all my family and friends instead of posting however this last week I put pic's of the snow that we got with all the snow drifts. We got a total of about 38" in two weeks. The first week we had about 18" and that was a record and we were shocked and in Oklahoma everything just shuts down so we stayed in and cooked and ate stayed warm .

The next week we got another 20" and I have never seen it snow that much in Oklahoma and evidently no-one else had either cause the news said that we set all kinds of records . All of the turnpikes out of Tulsa was shut down even Semi's were jack-knifed and stranded, it was crazy.
There are no doubt many things that I could say since I haven't posted for 4 months but I can't think of anything important at the moment that I should say. So maybe if I can get back in the groove of posting I can catch up on some other things later.
The funniest thing about it is it forcast to be in the seventies by the end of next week, even 50 tomorrow and 6o's Sunday , crazy Oklahoma weather!

Those were the days........

I talked to a nurse practitioner yesterday about my allergies to food and chemicals and she asked me where I worked to get exposed to something that could have caused my problems.........hmmmm I thot they know that the things that we are exposed to is making us sick. I feel that she was ready to help me file a law suit or something and get some kind of settlement or disability. It made me think back to when this all started and I remembered that it started when I got married and started moving around and when I was exposed to certain pollutants (like cropdusting) or taking certain medicines. The reactions weren't very often as they are now but were there just the same.

So that made me think about my childhood and the fact that I didn't have any of those problems then and I remembered that when I was a child that we lived on a small farm in town...if you can imagine that....lol we had a barn, a cow from which we got our own milk and butter, chickens running all over the yard from which we got our own eggs and when we ate a chicken it came from our own yard. We made our own bread everyday and every meal. I only remember eating one sandwich as a teenager and it was cold pinto beans and cold mashed potatoes between two pieces of white sandwich bread and having that sandwich bread was a rarity.

The small town that I lived in had no factories to pollute the air, ground or water. The water that I drank was well water and the only thing that I drank was water and milk. Some of our friends felt sorry for us and would sometimes bring us a bottle of pop. (did they do us a favor?) I thot so at the time but wonder now if we were not better off the way we were.

Our lives were stress free. We had no baby sitter other than our grandparents and then when we were older took care of each other when Mama worked. We had our own softball team and played "work-up" everyday of the summer and walked close to five miles to the creek to swim occasionly.

Lots of fresh air and exercise in a country setting and plenty of love. Our home was always full of love and no contention. We cut up and had fun at anything that was out of the ordinary. I still love to get together with all my brothers and sisters and reminisce about some of the fun things that we did and that happened to us.

I guess those were the days and they will never come back but I wish them for all of the young ones of today. I was so blessed to have experience them.

God bless all who reads and until next time tata for now.

Fun in NC

Vicky and I set out on Wednesday August 11th for Ridgecrest, NC to babysit for Isaac, Aleah, and Lillie while Dustin and Jamey directed Internationa Youth Camp. We went a little early to have a relaxing trip and get the room set up and some food purchased before we got the kiddos so we could consecrate on them and having fun with them. We went to the playground numerous times and then took them to the Fun Depot and to play miniture golf at Ridgecrest. We had soooo much fun with them but felt much like we had been thru boot camp since we are out of shape, old and the terrain there is mountainous........lol

I'm adding some pictures that may give a little insight of the beauty there , however , I am not a very good photographer and don't do it justice. We decided to visit Biltmore Mansion as a tribute to Trent. He researched it on the internet and had most of the dimensions memorized. It was great! We were able to destress even tho it was a very strenous experience itself. This pic is of a flower carpet that they make with potted flowers.

This is a pic of the outside, we weren't allowed to take pic's of the inside but it was very interesting and showed the character of the owners, Though they were very rich they had hospitality for all their guest and it had more of a home feel than other mansions that I have visited.

I didn't take pic's of the General Assembly tho many people did and they are great. It was one of the best assemblies that I have attended. It seemed relaxed and sort of a camp atmosphere. We stayed on the grounds there in an apartment and was shuttled back and forth to the services. We were able to eat in the room and I was shocked at how much "gluten free" food I was able to get so that kept me feeling good and in turn kept me going.
North Carolina is a very beautiful state and the people were friendly and the Church members seemed so spiritual and blessed. I loved EVERY session of the Assembly!
God Bless everyone and until next time Go with God and He will go with you.

gettin ready to go

Well I'm doin all I can to get ready to go to NC next week, I've had a special invitation to go to IYC and be the royal babysitter and it is an honor, I CAN'T WAIT, I am looking forward to the trip with Vicky and getting to see that part of NC tho I wish my husband could go too.

Vicky and I are going shopping today to do some last minute shopping and I hope it can also be relaxing and a time to enjoy what we love to do and get us a little closer to being ready. It will be hard to leave the family behind here I wish all could go too!

It seems that every where you look people are having trouble and stressful times but Jesus said that we would have these days and I know that if we will just humble ourselves before him he will work everything out for us we can't make it without him. I know that there have been times that I thot I couldn't go on and I had no strength in myself and wanted to just not try but the Lord carried me and got me thru it all.

Yesterday was a beautiful day.....we had a break in the extreme heat and a little breeze and I went to town and then fixed some chicken/steak k-bobs for dinner and took some over to Scott
(the kids hated them) and visited Dalton for a little bit he is doing pretty good other than that leg is not workable at all it will take time and a lot of physical therapy to get it back working. I'm sure with the Lord's help and his determination he will get it going.

It is so quiet and peaceful right now and I don't want to get up and get started on the day but can't get ready if I don't so bye for now enjoy summer while you can it won't last long enough for me. School will be started before I get back from the Assembly and fall will be right around the corner............I love fall but not winter, however I know we have the four seasons and I need to love them all for what they are............I just can't stand to be cold............lol

UPDATE

Most of my friends and family read our updates on facebook but for those that don't I would like to update, Dalton had his surgery on Thursday where they took almost two inches of bone out of his right thigh (a major surgery) the bones are held together with a rod put in the middle of the bone and held in place with a screw at the top and one at the bottom (that sounds like something that you would do to a board or piece of medal or something) anyway it has been real traumic to him and his body. He can't walk on crutches yet tho the doctors seem to think that he should. He doesn't eat very well so he hasn't gained his strength back yet. He seems to do better in the evenings than the mornings.

Thanks for all the prayers that you have prayed it is our only help.
We came home from the hospital on Saturday not even 48 hours after the surgery. That had to be rough on him as well. Being home is so much better than being in the hospital tho and I'm sure if there is any recoup it would be at home.

We have a change in Pastors this year at Pryor. Brother Don Branscum is our new pastor and so far both Sunday morning and evening was a blessing to the church. We love him and Sister Connie and welcome them to the Pryor Church. We are tempted to come to church with a dictionary as well as our Bibles tho............lol Not that he talks over our heads but is an English and Spanish major and we may need the dictionary............lol

God Bless everyone, keep us in your prayers.

my sanctuary

My home is my sanctuary, I am sitting here relaxing after packing to go to Shreveport, La. for Dalton's surgery to shorten his long leg. I just finished mopping my kitchen floor (I love it when it is clean and shiny) and I smell the meatloaf cooking in the oven and it smells sooooo good I am really hungry.......lol and I have Sirius Enlighten on the tv (good Southern gospel music) It feels so peaceful . This has been one of the most stressful months that I have ever spent. I hope things get better soon . I really could just stay here in this peaceful sanctuary and never leave.

I really believe that the Lord is coming soon and He is like an eagle taking the down out of the nest so we eaglets will feel so uncomfortable and we will want to fly. I'm ready to go but am afraid so others that may not be ready, maybe He's trying to make us ready.

My silly husband went back to work........he has an inspector's job that he always wanted and it is probably going to end up in our oldest son getting a permanent and good inspectors job as well we're sure hoping so.......he has worked so hard and so many hours that it has taken a toll on his health and other areas of his life and caused him to miss Church and that is not good for anyone.

Those of you that pray please pray for our family.........sometimes I feel that I'm wrestling for the very souls of some of them and I need God's Grace to keep it up.

Well I hope this post is not too dreary when I started out feeling so peaceful but I'm alone and relaxed..........lol
I haven't felt like writing lately and have been so busy that I just didn't get around to it. I kinda started July with a post and now ended it with one I sure hope August is a better month for me even tho I have to say that maybe I'm closer to God cause it has took a lot of prayer in order to keep my sanity.............God Bless all .

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday USA I'm proud to be an American, to be named with the brave and the free. I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th weekend. There are lots of fireworks going on around our neighborhood already and I'm sure the young people that are setting them off don't really realize what it is for and the importance of the freedom that we have.

I'm thankful to know the Lord Jesus Christ and to be able to worship Him in Spirit and truth.

Thanks to those who have fought for that freedom!
