LAUGHTER

Okay I have decided to post some short stories about my childhood and I know they won't be the same as they are when me and my siblings are together and we are saying "remember the time".....and we share stories and laugh so hard about them.

Our parents divorced when I was six years old and we moved into a two room house with my grandparents whom I called Grandma and Grandpa. They were virtually strangers to me so it was a very strange and stressful transition for me, however, my Grandma would soon become the most important person in my life.

Up until then my Mama,Daddy and brothers and sisters were my life and I had lost my Daddy and exchanged him for grandparents and a new town ( more about this later) and house that were strangers to me. First,.. I was a "daddy's girl" I followed him everywhere he went if I could, I was like his shadow. So I really wasn't interested in this change.

Where the laughter title comes in is there are lots of reasons for us kids to be bitter and mean as some people are and blame it on their childhood but we chose to have fun and laugh about it all so we do still to this day. Proverbs 17:22 says. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: and a broken spirit drieth the bones." So I'm glad that we can laugh about our calamities, maybe thats our only sanity...........lol

Pray for the Millers

Just thot I would let you know that they are going to try to wean Brother Miller off the ventilator today anyway they will start the process and if that doesn't work they will have to do a trek and that will be permenant. The doctors are saying that tho he seems to be responding to the family he isn't to them so their very skeptical.

We all know that it is in the hands of the Lord and I know that when it is your own family member its harder to place them there but in reality their always there! We just have to release them to Him. So if you would please keep them in your prayers that God's will will be done.

I thot I would give an update of what God is doing....Brother Miller is improving they have taken him off a lot of the meds and he seems to be responding to their conversation and breathing mostly on his own. We serve a great God! It looked like it was hopeless but God came through for us. AND..........

Saturday I got a call from "Darlene" saying that she wanted a ride to church and wanted to start back to church and get right with God...........I was skeptical but I went to pick her up yesteday morning and on the way home she was asking me some questions and I told her to come to church again last night and we would visit with her and pray with her..........AND......she got gloriously saved!!! what a thrill and blessing it is to see someone so bound to be freed!

We can't praise Him enough.

Other than that theres not much to blog about (of course I couldn't top that anyway) we have planted our little garden and if I may say so myself it is sooo cute we have tomatoes, okra, 2 kinds of squash, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, peppers and asparagus all in one little spot.....that is so fun to me to see all that grow and its fun to eat too...........and BTW Slug has potatoes and some more tomatoes down at the farm so we have lots of work ahead of us with all the mowing and brush cleaning and burning that we still have left over from last year.

I love spring and summer but I wear myself out having fun..........lol

Whew what a weekend........

Okay where do I start.....we started Friday with a call from one of our members calling for prayer and then the next call was from his granddaughter saying that they were taking him to the hospital by ambulence because he was unresponsive so they ended up having to lifeflight him to Tulsa so we headed out there from the Pryor hospital and missed them because of a mix-up in Pryor in a pacemaker machine in the helicopter so then Saturday "Slug" took off early to visit him and of course he is in ICU and didn't know that he was there. So I went to pick up my mother-in-law to take her to her 89th birthday lunch and met "Slug" there and then shopped for groceries to fix for our BBQ that we were having at Heathers that afternoon and then after the BBQ I came home and prepared for the sunrise service and continental breakfast that we were going to have.



I didn't sleep after 1:30 in the morning because I was concerned about Brother Miller and his granddaughter sitting up with him alone and worried that I would forget something for the breakfast and service so finually at 4:30 I got up and got thing ready and at 6:30 we were on our way to church and got a call from "Peggy" (Brother Miller's granddaughter) and she said that they almost lost him in the night so as soon as the service was over we headed to the hospital to be with the family.



They got some really bad news that he may already have brain damage due to the oxygen not getting to his brain during the time that he was passed out and unresponsive. He did suffer a heart attack and is still unresponsive with many machines hooked up to him and tubes as well.



Peggy called this morning and said that there was good news and that he was breathing more on his own that he had since the heart attack. Please keep this family in your prayers.



It rained for close to 24 hours on Easter but the Lord was with us and we worshipped Him and thanked Him for the great victory that He gave us. Actually we had a Easter egg hunt on Saturday at Heathers and I liked that better because on Sunday we just focused on the Resurrection and if I may say so

My favorite quote at Easter is "why seek ye the living among the dead' In St. Luke chapter 24 verses 1-7 it says "Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, why seek ye the living among the dead?

He is not here , but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

In the song "He lives" it says "I serve a living saviour, he's in the world today"

Many people, (of whom I am one) have experienced the Resurrection personally. Its not hard to believe this story of the empty tomb because we have witnessed it ourselves. And we know He lives even today because we have met him face to face.

Easter is a very sacred celebration, one that is the very basis and proof of Christianity and I'm very proud to be a part of the celebration.

We at the Pryor Church are planning a sunrise service with a continental breakfast following. Pray that we have many visitors and a witness of the resurrection to everyone that comes.

In other news, we were able to attend the Youth convention in Russellville, Ar. over the past weekend. It was great! Our regional overseer Brother Dewayne Smith came to our service on Sunday night with his son Brandon. It was good to visit with them and of course we went to our favorite mexican restaurant Las Fuentes for a great meal and fun fellowship. What fun we had!

Well in case I don't get a chance to post again before Easter I hope everyone has a blessed Easter weekend.

Out like a lion

Well you know what they say about March "In like a lamb, out like a lion" and vice versa. Well it came in like a lamb and according to the weather forcaster it will go out like a lion, roaring, snorting and spinning. But at least we can say that it is going out! We got some much needed rain , it has been very dry here and the rain just seemed to pass us up every forcast but we got a good rain yesterday without a lot of storms so I am thankful.

Not much is going on here, I have been sewing and trying to get more organized. I am making a dress for Savannah . Actually she and I decided weeks ago that we would make a dress together, I will take a picture of it when we're finished it was a fun project to help her learn how to sew. She is very creative and is interested in anything that she can get me to do with her so I thot that would be something that she could use in the future. She is also taking piano lessons which I hope she keeps up , she seems to have a knack for it however this time of the year she would rather be outside hunting bugs...........lol

We had good services at church this last weekend we were happy to have LeAnndra's Mom and stepdad to visit with his three children. They are here to work on Derek and LeAnndra's house and get it ready for the new arrival (which we found out the sex of but I will let her display that)

Clint and Vicky will leave soon to go to Shreveport, La. to work for a couple of months, we will miss having them around, their stay at home was short and Clint worked so many hours we hardly seen him. They were able to come to Sherries birthday dinner at Goldies tho and we all had a good time and visit . It was short but enjoyable.

Scott and Slug are raising rabbits together and Daltons sheep had twins and they are REALLY cute and playful so that keeps them busy feeding all the animals. So when "certain" kids come to visit they can pet the animals. ( we have a regular zoo here).....lol

What is a blog?

What is a blog? When I first heard of blogs my granddaughter sent me her blog address and I wondered what is a blog? so I took a look and these were my thoughts.

(1) It is a diary that everyone may read

(2) It could be used to make money and advertise your products online.

(3) It is a great way to keep up with family that are far away.

(4) You can share your every activity even down to the meals that you eat and who cooks them and make people that read feel as though they have spent the day with you. what fun!



So what is a blog? a fun site for friends and family and even some strangers to visit and learn more about you.



It is a great way to share your feelings and experiences and writing skills (of which I have none) lol



I have so many thots about my childhood and the small town that I was raised in that I may start to share some of them soon get ready to laugh!



So I thot since I haven't posted for 2 weeks I should put something on here so here it is. I'm still here there is not much going on except I am elated about SPRING anyone else?
